Digital Literacy Research Publications during 2011-2020. A Scientometric Study

Abstract

The present study has analyzed the year-wise growth of digital literacy research publications during the 10- year study period between 2011 and 2020 with 3205 research publications and 23114 citations. From the study, it is identified that a maximum of 719(22.43%) research publications are contributed in the year 2020. The author a maximum of 10(12.35%) research publications are contributed by Marsh, J. the United States. The RGR is 0.84 in the year 2012 and 0.25 in the year 2020. This study confirmed that the RGR is decreasing trend. At the same time doubling time was found that 0.82 in the year 2012 and .2.73 in the year 2020 an increasing trend. The subject maximum of 1232(61.57%) research publications are contributed by computer science, the authorship pattern 992(30.95%) research publications are contributed by single authors, and the average degree of collaboration is 0.69. The average CC is 0.41 and the average CI is 2.32, and the average MCC is 2.33. The time series analysis of publications in the year 2025 is around equal to 5751 and in the year 2030 is around equal to 8466. So that time serious analysis confirmed that the publications on digital literacy research are increasing trend. The document types a maximum of 1922(59.97%) research publications are contributed by articles. the journals a maximum of 83(20.49%) research publications are contributed by the ACM International Conference Proceeding Series. the institution the maximum of 28(12.73%) contributions Deakin University, United States. the country a maximum of 792(35.40%) research publications are contributed by the United States. The highest cited paper of 311 citations received for the publication of van Laar, E., et.al (2017) the relation between 21st-century skills and digital skills: A systematic literature review, Computers in Human Behavior, 72, 577-588.
