Work motivation among secondary school teachers in relation to leadership behavior of their heads
Abstract
The present study was conducted to explore the work motivation among secondary school teachers corresponding to the leadership behavior of their Heads. Adhering to stratified random sampling technique, sample comprised of 100 (50 male and 50 female) teachers and 30 heads of secondary schools. The data was collected by administering standardized questionnaires. The results of the study indicated that there exists no significant difference in work motivation of male and female secondary school teachers Both male and female teachers help students to transform students into better intellectual human beings. Also there exists no significant difference in leadership behavior of male and female secondary school heads. It is revealed that gender does not play any important role in determining leadership behavior among heads. Male and female heads equally manage their school in a proper way. In addition to it, it was also found out that the level of work motivation of teachers is corresponding to leadership style of their heads.
