Abstract

This brief article provides an overview of the novel into the movie The Mortal Instruments City of Bones in ecranisation study. The goals of this study are to determine how the novel The Mortal Instruments City of Bones was reduced, added to, and modified in some of the story's events and scenes for the film The Mortal Instruments City of Bones. To elaborate the reduction, addition, and modification, this study used descriptive qualitative and Eneste theory. Furthermore, the events of the novel The Mortal Instruments City of Bones, which was published in 2007, and the events of the film The Mortal Instruments City of Bones, which was released in 2013, are the data collections for this study. The writer used notetaking as a method of gathering information in order to determine the novel's reduction, addition, and modification into a film. As a result of the ecranisation process, the writer discovered that some reductions, additions, and modifications occurred. In addition, the writer discovered that the elements of the story were influenced by reduction, addition, and modification.
