AI integration in teaching ELT for Iranian intermediate and higher levels learners
Abstract
The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into English Language Teaching (ELT) has emerged as a transformative force reshaping language education worldwide. In this experimental research, we delve into the application of AI in teaching ELT specifically tailored for Iranian intermediate and higher-level learners. By employing semi-structured interviews and qualitative data analysis, we explore the nuanced perceptions and experiences of 26 participants regarding AI-based approaches in language education. Our findings underscore the multifaceted nature of AI integration in ELT, revealing diverse perspectives on its effectiveness, challenges, and future potentials within the Iranian educational context. Through an in-depth examination of participant narratives, this study sheds light on the dynamic interplay between technology, pedagogy, and cultural factors in shaping language learning experiences. Ultimately, our research contributes valuable insights to the ongoing discourse on optimizing AI technologies to meet the unique needs and aspirations of language learners in Iran.
