Analysis of climate change impacts on maritime security law: Focus on india and the Indian Ocean
Abstract
The people who live along the shore are facing a significant challenge when it comes to climate change. There was a significant amount of attention given by scientists to the potential economical, health, and environmental repercussions that may occur on a global, local, regional, and international scale in this setting. Due to the fact that India is a peninsula, there is always the possibility that changes in the environment will have an effect on the marine security of the Indian Ocean and along its coast. Since climate and weather patterns are becoming more unpredictable, there is a negative effect that is being felt, especially in the area around the Indian Ocean. In addition to the fact that it is anticipated that the industry would suffer in the not too distant future as a result of the climate crisis, it is also possible that it will face considerable difficulties in managing the threats that will emerge. In the same way that climate change will have an effect on the safety of people in the Indian Ocean, extreme weather conditions will have an influence on naval operations and put the protection of marine assets in precarious situations. The changing environment presents a structural issue, and the relevance of the research lies in the fact that regional naval forces need to be prepared in a methodical manner in order to properly cope with it. This is because the study highlights the many legislations that have been developed for the same purpose.
