Abstract

A career is a plan and a road map. It is one of the most essential variables in achieving success because it provides opportunities, interests, and abilities that provide motivation. Numerous studies have found that the varsity players' career paths in the Philippines influenced their future, particularly their chosen career path. The researchers used a mixed method approach, incorporating both quantitative and qualitative methods, to investigate why few Varsity players pursue BS Air Transportation, why they choose careers over professional athletics, industry demands, and gaps between industry expectations and graduates' competencies. It also investigates informants' perceptions of tuition fees, financial considerations, time management, communication, teamwork, and technical skills. This study's participants were alumni varsity graduate students from a Philippine Aeronautical School. This research provides useful perspectives for academic and institutional considerations by shedding light on how alumni participation in sports during their academic years influences their professional journeys. According to the findings of this study, financial insecurity was a major factor in every varsity player's decision to pursue a career. Aside from tuition and financial considerations, varsity players' career choices are influenced by time management, communication, teamwork, adeptness, and technical skills. This study's recommendation is for former varsity players, coaches, school administration, teachers, and future researchers in sports management, education, and student-athlete development. It helps athletes make informed life decisions and explore opportunities outside of their athletic careers. Coaches should use the findings to develop coaching strategies and foster a holistic environment for athletes.
