Perceptions and impact of students’ satisfaction on cleanliness with school environments
Abstract
This study investigated perceptions and the impact of students' satisfaction with cleanliness in school environments within Balite National High School, Schools Division of Surigao del Norte, Philippines. A survey was administered to a sample of 191 students to evaluate their impressions regarding the level of cleanliness in different parts of the school and their overall satisfaction. The findings indicated that students have a moderate perception of the cleanliness of the school environment, with an average score ranging from 2.18 to 2.37. However, a significant proportion of students (49.2%) expressed dissatisfaction with the overall environment. Student views of cleanliness directly and positively impact their learning experience. The study additionally discovered that children from various grade levels exhibit statistically significant disparities (p-value = 0.01) in their views of cleanliness, indicating the possibility of differing expectations. Student views were not significantly influenced by age and gender. Based on the results, the study suggests implementing a comprehensive strategy to enhance school cleanliness, increase student satisfaction, and foster a more positive learning environment.
