This study assesses the College of Nursing Hostel in Alimosho, Lagos, design concept for ventilation and space adequacy. It evaluates how much space is allotted for common spaces and student housing, analyses how well the ventilation system works, and looks at how space and ventilation affect health The study employed a mixed method approach to gather data on hostel space adequacy and improvement on design. The research utilised case studies of nursing homes in Norway, India, and Nigeria, the questionnaire generated 99 responses from students of the Nursing hostel in Alimosho, Lagos, Nigeria. The findings of results show that 62.8% of the nursing students are female while a total of 37.2% are male and the age range of the said respondents is between 15 years and 25. The space within the hostel accommodation is somewhat adequate (mean response= 4.22) but there is room for improvement. Although living quarters are normally large enough, common spaces and ventilation systems need to be significantly improved to improve students' health and happiness. A notable 35% of respondents reported health issues since residing in the hostel, with a consensus that the quality of the indoor environment affects their health. Adequate space and effective ventilation are deemed essential for maintaining a healthy living environment, indicating that improvements in these areas could positively impact student health. Upgrading ventilation systems, improving communal areas, and expanding room sizes are among the recommendations.
