Digital Communication and Student Learning: Exploring the Impact of Digital Tools on Educational Experiences and Teacher-Student Relationships
Abstract
The widespread use of digital communication tools has transformed the educational landscape, offering new opportunities for student engagement, collaboration, and learning. This study examines the impact of digital communication tools, such as social media and messaging apps, on student learning experiences and teacher-student relationships.
A mixed-method approach was used, combining surveys, interviews, and focus groups with students and teachers. The findings suggest that digital communication tools can improve student engagement, motivation, and collaboration, especially when used to facilitate interactive and immersive learning experiences. However, the study also raises concerns about the potential distractions, inequities, and blurred boundaries that can result from the use of digital communication tools in educational settings.
The study’s findings have important implications for educators, policymakers, and researchers seeking to harness the potential of digital communication tools to improve student learning outcomes and educational experiences. By examining the complex and multifaceted relationships between digital communication, student learning, and teacher-student relationships, this study contributes to a deeper understanding of the role of digital technologies in shaping the future of education.
