The Role of Diaphragmatic Communities in Achieving Sustainable Development: A Case Study
Abstract
Diaspora communities have been recognized as vital partners in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This paper explores the multifaceted contributions that diaspora populations make toward achieving sustainable development, particularly in their home and host countries. The methodology integrates qualitative interviews and case studies, enabling a comprehensive examination of the topic from multiple perspectives. The findings from the case studies reveal that the successful case studies of Ethiopian agricultural initiatives, Indian renewable energy projects, and Jamaican community health efforts exemplify the potential for sustainable community development through collaborative efforts. The relevance of these findings to sustainable development lies in the recognition of diaphragmatic communities as crucial partners in the achieving of the SDGs.
