Abstract

The increasing reliance on digital technologies in transportation systems has necessitated the development of a digital workforce capable of ensuring the security and compliance of operations. This paper explores strategic approaches to building digital workforce capacity for cybersecure transportation operations and policy compliance. It examines the intersection of cybersecurity, transportation management, and workforce development, highlighting the critical need for skill enhancement and training programs to address evolving cyber threats. By focusing on workforce planning, competency development, and the integration of cybersecurity practices within transportation policies, the paper emphasizes the importance of fostering a skilled workforce that can effectively respond to emerging cyber challenges. Additionally, the research identifies best practices, frameworks, and policies for organizations to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations while maintaining operational resilience. Through case studies and expert insights, this study provides a roadmap for organizations to build a cybersecure transportation workforce that aligns with current and future policy requirements.
