The Impact of Using Jenga Tower Block Game on Students’ Reading Comprehension at Fifth Grade of SDN Mekarsari Cilegon
Abstract
This study explores Jenga tower block game as learning and teaching media and examines its impact on students’ reading comprehension at SDN Mekarsari Cilegon. The study employed a pre-test and post-test as part of its quasi-experimental design to collect data from 20 students of experimental and control class respectively. The post-test results were analyzed by using the independent-samples test to determine whether or not students’ reading comprehension is impacted by the Jenga tower block game. The findings indicate that the tcount ≥ ttable or 2.232 ≥ 2.042, stating that Alternative Hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and Null Hypothesis (H0) is rejected, demonstrating that the use of Jenga tower block game has an impact toward students’ reading comprehension at fifth grade of SDN Mekarsari Cilegon.
