Abstract

Agricultural extension ideologies and policies play a core role in agriculture, an important sector in the Vietnamese economy. Throughout history, with different fluctuations in different periods, ideologies and policies on agricultural extension have corresponding changes, contributing to shaping the development of the agricultural sector. However, studies on economic ideologies in general and agricultural extension ideologies and policies in particular in Vietnam are still very modest. Therefore, to partially complement the general research picture and provide an overview of agricultural extension ideologies and policies in Vietnam, this study goes into systematizing historical periods, thereby analyzing and evaluating agricultural extension ideologies based on implemented policies and results from these policies. In addition, the study also contributes to helping policymakers gain insight into changes in the agricultural sector and be able to make appropriate policies for the next stages of development.
