Entrepreneurial intention among youth in rural Punjab
Abstract
The present research work was carried out to assess the level of Entrepreneurial intention among youth from rural areas of Punjab state of India. The data was collected from 130 youngsters in the age range of 18-22 years. Both males and females were included in the study and the data was collected through the online mode in google forms. The findings reveal that there was a significant correlation between the three independent variables, namely, Attitude, Perceived Behavioural control and social norms and dependent variable, Entrepreneurial intention. The findings have significant implications in the area of entrepreneurial training and education. Today, when a lot of attention is being paid on enhancing entrepreneurial skills of youth, studies like the present one have important contributions to make. It is essential to identify youth with entrepreneurial intention and also those with less of it. On the basis of findings, it can be said that it is important to enhance intentions in cases where it is low because intentions are important predictors of behaviour.
