Abstract

This research aims to shed light on the psychological, social, educational, and legal dimensions of the phenomenon of children's exploitation on social media platforms. Children have increasingly become a profitable media tool for parents and influencers, exposing them to various psychological risks such as anxiety, depression, and bullying. Socially, it contributes to isolation and a decline in family and societal integration. Moreover, it negatively affects academic performance and concentration due to excessive and unconscious use of these platforms.
The study also addresses the legal perspective by reviewing national laws and international conventions that prohibit the economic exploitation of children and criminalize both direct and indirect forms of child labor, emphasizing the importance of enforcing these measures to safeguard children's rights, privacy, and physical and mental well-being.
The research concludes that the appearance of children in promotional content constitutes an indirect form of child labor. This necessitates legislative and executive intervention to establish strict legal regulations governing such appearances, limiting them to educational and cultural purposes under specific standards, along with the need to raise family awareness about the risks of this form of exploitation.
