A descriptive study to assess the knowledge, attitude and practice on covid-19 among the nursing assistants

Abstract

The present study aimed to assess the Knowledge, Attitude and Practice on COVID-19 among the Nursing Assistants in Saveetha Medical College and Hospital. The objectives were to assess the level of knowledge, attitude and practice among nursing assistants about COVID-19.To correlate the knowledge with the practice among nursing assistants about COVID-19.The descriptive research design was used to assess the knowledge, attitude and practice among the nursing assistants in Saveetha Medical College and Hospital. The total number 100 study participants were participated who met all inclusion criteria. Non-probability Convenience sampling technique used. Data collected by administering Semi-structured questionnaire. The data oraganized and analysed by using descriptive and inferential statistics. The result shows that 86(86%) had moderate knowledge, on COVID-19. 71(71%) had moderately favourable attitude and 73(73%) had moderate practice towards COVID-19. The result shows a moderate positive correlation which was found to be statistically significant at p<0.001 level and clearly infers that when knowledge on COVID-19 increases among the nursing assistants increases their attitude and practice level also increases.
