Influence of Face Book on Student’s Academic Performance among Undergraduate Students of Sokoto State University Sokoto State, Nigeria
Abstract
The study looked at the influence of face book on Student' Academic performance in Sokoto state University. The specific objective that guided the study was; to determine the influence of face book on Students' Academic performance in Sokoto state University The study was basically based on cross sectional survey that employed quantitative method. The total number of population under study was 1336. 297 questionnaires were administered to the respondents all 297 questionnaires were returned hence considered for data presentation and analysis with response rate of 100 %. The sampling techniques were simple random sampling and census inquiry. Data was collected through questionnaires which were based on three likert scale of 1 for Disagree, 2 for Undecided and 3 for Agree. The data collected was analyzed using frequencies and percentages (univariate statistics), Pearson correlation co-efficient (bivariate statistics) and regression analysis. The study found a positive and significant influence of face book on Student academic ’ performance In conclusion, there was a statistical significant influence between face book and academic ‘performance; Researchers recommended that; Students should ensure that, they adequately change their mind set in using face book if they are to improve on their academic performance. They should also ensure adequate utilization of their time for better learning outcomes, Students should effectively utilized the face book for academic purposes.
