Enumeration of Birds Species in South District of Sikkim
Abstract
Study on bird diversity in South District of Sikkim (27003’-28007’N latitude & 88003’-88057’E longitude), a small state lies on the foothills of Himalayas was done over a period from 2020-2021. A total no of 59 species which belongs to 27 families were recorded during the study covering the area of about 750 km2. The species found in the area is frequent. The study area has wide variety of trees, which may be one of the major causative factors for the richness of birds.
